US signals broader retaliation beyond maritime targets for future Iranian attacks

Republican strategist John Jordan has outlined a two-pronged approach to potential US retaliation against Iran.

“There are two different pieces to this … one, he is talking about potentially a major attack … it wouldn’t just be maritime targets along the Iranian coast; it would also potentially be regime targets,” Mr Jordan told Sky News Australia.

“Secondly … for every shot taken at a ship in the Strait of Hormuz or the Gulf of Oman, there is going to be a specific one bridge taken out or one piece of power or infrastructure eliminated.

“In the last few hours, there have been no attacks in the Strait of Hormuz, so it’s interesting to see how this affects Iranian calculus.”
