Are South African footballers too comfortable to reach their full potential?
Senegal football legend El Hadji Diouf joins Nkepile Mabuse for a blunt CheckPoint conversation about Bafana Bafana, the PSL and what it may take for an African country to win the FIFA World Cup.
Diouf makes a bold prediction: South Africa could become Africa’s first world champion.
He says the country already has strong facilities, major clubs and a domestic league capable of producing elite talent. But he argues that more South African players need to compete abroad, where unfamiliar environments and stronger competition can teach them how to perform under pressure.
