Rubio: Anchorage proposals failed because Ukraine said “no” | Ukraine Brief
Speaking at an ASEAN summit in Manila on Thursday, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Russian proposals from the 2025 meeting in Anchorage of Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin failed because they were unacceptable to Ukraine.
Ukrainian forces overnight struck an oil refinery in Russia’s Ulyanovsk region, as well as an oil pumping station in Bashkortostan.
Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin was in Kyiv Thursday, holding a bilateral meeting with President Zelenskyy.
This comes as Ireland kicks off its rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union, with Kyiv pushing for the EU to open remaining negotiation clusters necessary for Ukraine’s accession into the bloc.
