Nobody should take cues on what is culturally appropriate from ‘hypocritical’ Cricket Australia

GT Communication’s Gemma Tognini says nobody should take any “cues” on what’s “culturally appropriate” from Cricket Australia.

“Cricket Australia has a climate policy, but still flies its players to matches in countries like India, one of the world’s biggest industrial polluters,” Ms Tognini told Sky News host Danica De Giorgio.

“Cricket Australia presents as being socially advanced and pro-equality, but still engages in games with the Afghanistan cricket team, in Afghanistan, where women and girls have no rights.

“It’s illegal for women to work or play any kind of sport, let alone cricket.

“None of us should take any of our cues from what’s culturally appropriate or socially acceptable from this organisation, not in a lifetime.”
