Man airlifted to hospital following shark attack in Tasmania
A man has been airlifted to hospital following a shark attack in Tasmania’s south.
It’s understood the 31-year-old was spear-fishing about 50 metres offshore at Coal Point on Bruny Island when he was attacked.
He received non-life-threatening injuries to his lower forearm – and was able to return to shore with the assistance of two other divers.
Police believe he was bitten by a two-metre broadnose sevengill shark.
