No Escape For Zelensky As Putin Unleashes Biggest Attack On Ukraine Just Before Abu Dhabi Trilateral

Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Russia of deliberately targeting civilians after Ukrainian authorities said aerial bombs struck an aid point in Komyshuvakha, killing 26 people and leaving another 27 missing. Kyiv says the former school was being used as a shelter and humanitarian distribution point where residents routinely gathered on Mondays. But beyond Zelensky’s accusations, the attack also raises a difficult question for Ukraine’s own defences: how did repeated aerial bombs reach a vulnerable frontline location where civilians were known to assemble? Ukrainian authorities say the first bombs struck as people arrived and another strike followed after emergency personnel moved in. Zelensky is using the attack to argue that Moscow rejected opportunities for de-escalation ahead of planned US-backed talks. Yet Komyshuvakha also leaves Kyiv confronting the failure to keep a known civilian aid point safe.
