Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has issued a sharp warning to Washington after Democrats delivered a stunning rebuke to Donald Trump’s Republican Party in the 2026 US midterm elections. Reacting to the Democratic gains across the Senate and House, Ghalibaf declared that “Americans said NO TO WAR,” claiming the election results reflected growing public opposition to the Iran war and its economic consequences.
Ghalibaf warned that if the US government betrays the will of its people to serve “international paymasters and blackmailers,” it would face a nightmare. His remarks come as Democrats secured major Senate victories in traditionally Republican states, including Kansas, Texas, Iowa, Ohio and South Carolina, while flipping key House districts that had voted for Trump in 2024.
