A treat for all the foodies and pastry lovers out there. TVP World’s correspondent Alex Sumlinsky visited Krakow as the city hosted its 24th annual Pierogi Festival – a celebration of one of Poland’s most iconic dishes.
This year’s top prize in the best stuffing category went to a classic combination of cabbage and mushrooms – a staple of Polish Christmas Eve dinners. But the festival also offered plenty of experimental fillings, combining traditional recipes with international flavors and modern culinary trends.
Alex also caught up with several “pierogi aficionados” at the festival to find out what makes the perfect pierogi and why this humble Polish dish continues to win over food lovers.
