Forest fire chars over 700 hectares in Indonesia’s Mount Soputan
Authorities in Indonesia’s North Sulawesi province are battling forest and land fires on the slopes of Mount Soputan after the blaze scorched more than 700 hectares of land and forest, officials said on Wednesday (Aug 5).
The fire broke out on Sunday (Aug 2) in Southeast Minahasa, spreading rapidly through dry vegetation amid strong winds.
