Auto China 2026: For average price of a car in US, you could buy 5 new Chinese EVs
The Auto China 2026 from April 24-May 3 in Beijing is a showcase for how hypercompetition in China has driven new car prices in the world’s largest car market to a fraction of the level of the next-largest market, the United States. And the contrast is stark where the average new car in the US in March had a list price of US$51,456, according to Kelley Blue Book, as opposed to just US$10,000 for each Chinese electric vehicles.
