UEFA says World Cup boycott still stands despite Gianni Infantino’s apology
Despite apologising and scrapping his plans for the World Cup, many senior soccer figures say they still don’t have any confidence in FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
Europe’s governing body UEFA says its threat to boycott FIFA events still stands.
This comes as Mr Infantino continues to lose support from multiple football associations for next year’s re-election bid following the disastrous attempt to sell off stakes in the World Cup.
UEFA is also looking to come up with a rival candidate for FIFA President.
