Trump blasts Fed leadership as HQ probe heats up
In an interview with Maria Bartiromo of FOX Business, President Donald Trump said he would challenge Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell over his perceived “incompetence” if Powell does not step down from his post. “I’ve held back firing him. I’ve wanted to fire him, but I hate to be controversial, you know?” Trump said. This comes as officials from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia (USADC) showed up earlier this week at the Federal Reserve’s construction site in Washington, D.C. Reports indicate this was part of an investigation tied to congressional testimony from Chairman Jerome Powell.
