‘This is Trump’s Wall’: Tohono O’odham Nation fights construction on its land
In Arizona, the Indigenous Tohono O’odham Nation is fighting plans to extend a 30-foot high border wall through its ancestral lands, which stretch across the border into the Mexican state of Sonora.
One of Donald Trump’s flagship projects has been building a steel wall along the US-Mexico border.
Tohono O’odham Nation leaders believe the push ahead of the midterm elections is politically motivated to bolster the President’s support base.
With protests escalating against border wall construction, many believe the issue is galvanising voters around the country.
