The Mother City reaches a scorching 40 degrees mark
The heat is literally on in Cape Town, with a record high of 40 degrees recorded in the Mother City.
The South African Weather Service says the mercury last rose to this level in 2017.
Large parts of the Western Cape are experiencing heatwave conditions which are expected to last until Friday.
