Tensions Surge as Houthis Target Saudi Tankers Near Yemen
Maritime traffic near Yemen’s southern port of Aden continued without major disruption on July 23 after the Iran-aligned Houthi group claimed it attacked two Saudi tankers in the Red Sea. The Houthis said they targeted the vessels, identified as the Encelia and Layla, for allegedly violating a naval blockade they imposed on Saudi Arabia, using a combination of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones.
