Hanson pushes for tougher ISIS fighter laws | 7NEWS
Pauline Hanson has challenged the Opposition Leader to work with One Nation to strengthen counter-terrorism laws and prevent 13 ISIS fighters from returning to Australia. The Coalition claims it introduced legislation in March that would prevent third parties from assisting ISIS sympathisers’ return, but requires Labor’s support to pass. The government maintains it is already using existing laws to their fullest constitutional extent, implementing arrangements developed by intelligence agencies, and notes that 45 ISIS fighters returned under the previous Coalition government.
