Strategist blasts Putin as ‘self-deluded’ and desperate to be ‘diplomatically relevant’

Republican Strategist John Jordan explains why Russian President Vladimir Putin offered to help the US in the Middle East despite already being rumoured to be aiding Iran in the war.

“This is the guy who blundered into war in Ukraine, who wouldn’t listen to his own intelligence, who drinks his own coolade,” Mr Jordan told Sky News Australia.

“There’s a cycle of self-delusion and systemic dysfunction inside the Russian Government.

“What Vladimir Putin wants here is to be diplomatically relevant.”
