Lindsay Clancy’s lawyer talks mistrial, says jury was ‘robbed’ by holdout juror
Lindsay Clancy’s defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, criticized the outcome of the trial after a judge declared a mistrial Friday, saying the jury had been “robbed by one man, for whatever his agenda was.”
Reddington was referring to the apparent lone holdout juror after the jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict. The defense had sought to have the juror questioned further and later appealed to the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court before the mistrial was declared.
Clancy was charged with killing her three children — 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan — in their Duxbury home in January 2023. She did not dispute that she killed the children. Her defense argued that she was not criminally responsible because of her mental state at the time, while prosecutors sought first-degree murder convictions.
