#Spain tightens #border controls amid row with #Italy
Spain has introduced temporary border controls for passengers arriving from Italy by air and sea, escalating a dispute between the two EU members over irregular immigration. The move follows a mass influx of around 70,000 migrants into Spain’s North African exclave of Ceuta from Morocco. Italy had already announced border checks for Spaniards travelling to the country.
