SIU issues preservation order over two properties bought with lottery grant meant for KZN farmers

The Special Investigating Unit has issued a preservation order over two properties bought with funds from a R13 million lottery grant for an agricultural project in KwaZulu-Natal.

The properties were frozen by the Special Tribunal following an SIU investigation into alleged corruption and misuse of lottery funding allocated to Malusi We Sizwe Non-Profit Company.

The project was meant to benefit almost 1 900 unemployed people, including unemployed youth and elderly community members.

For more on this matter, we are now joined by SIU spokesperson Advocate Selby Makgotho.
