Former South African Local Government Association (Salga) Chief Director Faiez Jacobs says African National Congress (ANC) councillors need to step up to the plate and do the right thing.
On Monday, ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa addressed what has been called a Roll Call at Nasrec for councillors from across the country that he hailed as a historic moment for transformation in local government.
A Service Delivery Action Plan was announced to take the councillors forward, leading up to local government elections next year.
