Serbian students celebrate election victory in Belgrade
For two years they marched. On Sunday night, they celebrated.
Students in Belgrade took to the streets not to protest, but to mark a historic election victory after Aleksandar Vučić conceded defeat to their parliamentary list.
The peaceful movement, sparked by the deaths of 16 people in the 2024 Novi Sad railway station roof collapse, brought down one of the Balkans’ most entrenched leaders.
In a country of 6 million, the younger generation just changed the direction of their country.
