*The state will not oppose bail for suspended Ekurhuleni Metro Police Deputy Chief, Julius Mkhwanazi, and Madlanga Commission witness, Witness K. They are accused of involvement in the 2023 theft of precious stones worth nearly R15 million from a Killarney apartment.
*Controversial businessman, Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala and four co-accused, have all pleaded not guilty to all counts. The five face 25 charges arising from three separate attempted murder incidents between August 2022 and January 2024.
*Suspended EMPD Deputy Chief, Julius Mkhwanazi, and co- accused, Witness K, will know tomorrow if they will be freed on bail.
Both face charges of conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery and fraud relating to the 2023 precious stones robbery worth close to R15-million rand.
