Russia uses NATO withdrawal demand to sabotage peace talks | Ukraine Brief
A localized ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine commenced on Tuesday at 3AM Kyiv time in the Russian-occupied town of Oleshky. Brokered by U.S. First Lady Melania Trump, the agreement is set to facilitate humanitarian aid deliveries, as well as the evacuation of civilians. Kyiv and Moscow confirmed on Tuesday that, as of 5:30 PM Kyiv time, both sides were abiding by the ceasefire and no violations had been recorded. Despite the Oleshky ceasefire, 16 ballistic missiles and over 280 drones rocked Ukraine overnight, coming as part of Russia’s ongoing assault on civilian infrastructure. Kyiv was heavily targeted in the attacks, with at least one person killed and 15 wounded across the city.
