Russia is turning childhood into a military boot camp | Eastern Express
The Kremlin is building a system that moves Russian children from patriotic education toward military training and eventual service in the armed forces. Yunarmia, the Movement of the First, and VOIN now connect schools, youth camps, combat veterans, and state institutions across Russia and occupied Ukraine.
Children are being trained in weapons handling, drone operations, tactical medicine, reconnaissance, and other battlefield skills. At the same time, they are taught to see Ukraine, NATO, and the West as permanent enemies of the Russian state.
Eastern Express’ host Benjamin Lee and his guest Sergei Erofeev, Sociologist at Rutgers University, examine how Vladimir Putin is preparing an entire generation for confrontation long after the current war ends.
