‘Poor bloke’: Albanese puts King Charles in an awkward spot with political joke
News24 host Paul Murray questions Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s decision to raise the backlash over his visit to CHOGM during their interaction.
“He had an interaction with the King, and the King, of course, has to just be polite when the Prime Minister brings up this,” Mr Murray said.
“I mean, again, the poor bloke.
“After saying, yeah, nice to see you. Oh, at my press conference, I mentioned why you are here at CHOGM, which is a signal back to the politics here about him being there, not here. And, oh, because I had to meet the king.
“What’s Charles supposed to do with all of that?”
