Bryan Lee and his wife Cris were shocked to hear they had lost the lease for their long-time Hong Kong restaurant Cinta-J, which will shut on September 30, 2025. Lee’s family has run Cinta-J and its predecessor Cinta in Wan Chai for 42 years, a home away from home for the city’s Filipino diaspora, thanks to its authentic Pinoy cooking and the live karaoke on offer. Cinta-J’s impending closure came as a surprise to many long-time patrons, but no more so than to the owners themselves.
