One Nation rift after candidate breaks ranks on migration days from poll

One Nation’s Candidate for Farrer has contradicted party policy on immigration in a debate one week out from the crucial by-election.

One Nation wants to cap immigration arrivals at 130-thousand per year, less than half the 306-thousand migrants who arrived last financial year.

At a debate in Albury, David Farley said that the level of migration isn’t too high, a position that puts him completely at odds with Leader Pauline Hanson.

It caps a messy fortnight for the One Nation candidate and by-election frontrunner, after it was revealed he’d previously donated to both the Labor Party and his Independent rival Michelle Milthorpe.

One Nation Leader Pauline Hanson says she remains confident in Mr Farley’s election campaign.
