‘No Air Defence Can Stop This’: Russia Unleashes P-800 Supersonic ‘Warship Slayer’ Missile | WATCH
Russia is showcasing its P-800 Oniks supersonic anti-ship missile across the Pacific Fleet’s Far Eastern exercises, deploying Bastion and Bal coastal defence systems across Primorye, Kamchatka, Chukotka and the Kuril Islands. Moscow claims the Oniks can travel at 2.5 times the speed of sound and threaten warships hundreds of kilometres away. The deployment highlights Russia’s strategy of using mobile land-based missiles to create restricted-access zones around key maritime approaches. At the same time, Moscow is adapting Bastion systems for the newer Zircon hypersonic missile, which Russia claims can reach Mach 9 and a range of around 1,000 kilometres, expanding its coastal strike capabilities.
