Moscow targeted in massive Ukrainian drone attack | Morning Report
Our main stories today:
– NATIONAL MOURNING IN SPAIN
Spain has begun its three-day long mourning period following a catastrophic train crash that claimed the lives of at least 68 people. Emergency crews worked late into the night, searching the crash site for survivors and remains of the victims, after a high-speed train from Madrid to Seville barreled into a stationary train Wednesday morning.
– NETANYAHU LEADS, LACKS MAJORITY
With around 90% of the votes counted in the Israeli election, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s bloc is in the lead, but falls short of securing a parliamentary majority. The results give Netanyahu a path to remain in power but require drawing rival parties into a coalition.
– UKRAINIAN DRONES TARGET MOSCOW
At least one person was killed in an overnight Russian strike against Ukraine. Meanwhile, Moscow and its surrounding regions faced mass drone strikes. Footage shared online shows a huge fire following the strikes. Local authorities reported that over 160 Ukrainian drones were launched at the Russian capital.
