Mokonyane urges ANC, FRELIMO to work together

ANC First Deputy Secretary-General Nomvula Mokonyane says former President Thabo Mbeki’s appearance before the Khampepe Commission coincides with the commemoration of Mozambican President Samora Machel’s death in a 1986 plane crash.

She says it is an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices made for freedom and to better understand South Africa’s transition.

The ANC honoured Machel at Freedom Park in Pretoria, where Mokonyane called on the ANC and Mozambique’s ruling FRELIMO party to work together to address challenges facing both countries.
