French President Emmanuel Macron has begun a diplomatic tour of East Africa aimed at strengthening France’s political and economic ties throughout the region. After visiting Egypt, Macron travelled to Kenya for a summit focused on innovation and economic cooperation, with a stop in Ethiopia planned next. The visit comes amid growing anti-French sentiment and rising Chinese influence across parts of Africa.
