Long Island daycares at risk of losing licenses after serious health, safety violations

Seven Long Island day care centers, including five in Suffolk and two in Nassau, are currently facing the threat of license revocation by the state after health or safety violations were documented by inspectors.

Three additional Suffolk day care centers and one in Nassau were forced to shut their doors in recent months after the state documented issues.

Among the nearly 100 violations were corporal punishment; failing to report allegations of abuse; children left unsupervised; and not checking criminal or sex offender databases before hiring staff.
