King Charles gifts Trump bell from WWII submarine HMS Trump during White House state dinner toast
Charles presented Trump with the original bell from the World War II-era submarine HMS Trump during his toast.
“Should you ever need to get hold of us, just give us a ring,” the king said.
The submarine fought in the Pacific theater of the war, though its name is unrelated to the president, according to the BBC. Charles said the gift was a recognition of the “shining future” of the special relationship and Buckingham Palace told the BBC in a statement before the speech that it was a “symbol of friendship to mark this renewal.”
