Johari open to EVs for ministers, but says charging network must come first


Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani says he is open to Cabinet ministers using electric vehicles (EVs) as part of government cost-cutting measures amid the ongoing global oil situation, but stressed that any move must be supported by adequate nationwide infrastructure.

He made the remarks during a Concorde Club dialogue session on Tuesday (April 28), when asked whether the government and Cabinet were prepared to adopt austerity measures, including the use of EVs as official vehicles.
