Israeli strike in Qatar condemned
Israel has launched an airstrike against Hamas leaders in Qatar, killing five Hamas members including a senior leader’s son.
Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani said the attack was “state terrorism” by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who said he authorised the strike.
Qatar is a key moderator state between Israel and Hamas and often hosts negotiations.
The airstrike took place shortly after Hamas’ armed wing claimed responsibility for a shooting on Monday that killed six people at a bus stop on the outskirts of Jerusalem. The two gunmen were shot dead at the scene.
