More than 486 alleged MS-13 gang members sat handcuffed and ankle-chained in front of television screens, inside El Salvador’s CECOT mega-prison for a mass virtual trial. Charges include arms trafficking, homicide, extortion, feminicide, forced disappearances, and rebellion. With prosecutors alleging the defendants sought to establish a parallel state through territorial control.
