From classrooms to robot battles: Rethinking Education | Close-Up with Aleksandra Żaczek
In the new episode of Close-Up, TVP World journalist Aleksandra Żaczek takes a closer look at creativity in education and asks whether today’s school systems truly support the potential of young people.
The episode features the report “Inventions and Robot Battles,” by Ilona Ptak, which takes viewers to a technical school in Katowice, where students design and build their own robots and compete in Robot Wars tournaments. Through the experiences of these students, the report raises broader questions about the place of creativity in education and whether such environments are still the exception rather than the rule.
The episode also includes a conversation with Kama Kępczyńska from the Creativity Works Europe Foundation, who discusses the importance of informal education, learning through practice, and the need to move beyond rigid frameworks that can restrict young people’s development.
