Four people killed in deadly military base fire in Canada
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has confirmed that four service members have been killed and dozens more seriously injured in a fire at a military base in Alberta, describing it as one of the worst peacetime tragedies for Canada’s military on domestic soil.
Carney said that the personnel had come from bases across the country to train at Wainwright.
Fire authorities say fierce winds whipped flames beyond Canadian Forces Base Wainwright and into the surrounding rural area.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
