Former Emfuleni Local Municipality fleet manager’s case postponed to next week Monday


A former Emfuleni Local Municipality fleet manager is expected to appear in the Vanderbijlpark Magistrate’s Court this morning, after being arrested in connection with an alleged R16 million municipal vehicle fleet tender corruption scheme.

The 42-year-old was arrested over the weekend by the Gauteng Political Killings Task Team, and faces charges of fraud and corruption.

He is accused of the alleged irregular awarding and implementation of a contract, under which the municipality paid approximately R16 million for the delivery of 18 vehicles.
