Evacuation Ordered In Japan after 7.5-Magnitude Earthquake As Fears Of 10ft Tsunami Stir
The first tsunami waves have hit Japan after the island was rocked by a huge 7.5-magnitude earthquake.
Bigger waves of up to 10ft could crash into the north of the country immediately, Japan‘s Meteorological Agency (JMA) warned.
Residents are warned to stay away from the coast as the waves barrel in.
Japan’s PM Sanae Takichi said that “human and material damage” had been reported, and urged residents to evacuate.
The worst waves are expected in Iwate, Aomori and Hokkaido areas, the agency said.
