Criminal syndicates infiltrate police, study reveals
A doctoral study has uncovered how criminal syndicates use highly organised and sophisticated methods, including allegedly infiltrating law enforcement structures to carry out hijackings and car theft.
Dr Lennox Luzipo a criminologist at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, focused on the modus operandi of criminal syndicates operating in Berea in Durban, and found that offenders adapt their strategies depending on who is targeted.
