Committee slams CETA administrator over awarding himself R3m salary
The Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Higher Education and Training, Tebogo Letsie has criticised the administrator appointed to address governance and administrative challenges in the Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA).
Letsie criticised Oupa Nkoane for unilaterally approving his own salary of R3 million without authorisation from the department or Minister.
This comes after the committee received a briefing from the CETA regarding the protected disclosure allegations of irregularities at the entity.
Letsie has described the revelations as shocking, adding that the committee wants salaries of administrators to be regulated.
