Bangkok Engineer Allegedly on Drugs and AWOL From Cabin During Deadly Crash

Thai police alleged the train operator was not inside the cabin of a freight train when it slammed into a bus and cars at a busy Bangkok crossing – killing 8 and injuring more than 30 others. Both the engineer and the on-duty crossing guard have since been arrested, with the police charging the driver with negligence causing death.
