Australia’s largest Indigenous cultural gathering explained

Garma Festival in northeast Arnhem Land has long been one of Australia’s leading forums for political and cultural dialogue, bringing together political leaders, First Nations leaders, community organisations, researchers, educators, advocates, artists and senior business figures.
Over the next few days, over 5,000 people are expected to travel to Yolŋu Country for four days of ceremony, culture and national conversation.
This year, the four-day program from 31 July until 3 August responds to the theme ‘Bukmak’, which means ‘Everyone’, emphasising unity, inclusion, diversity and connection.
