Lawmakers in the Philippines voted for a second time to impeach Vice President Sara Duterte, daughter of former President Rodrigo Duterte, in a move that could remove her from office and end her hopes to seek the presidency in 2028. The lower house voted in favor with an overwhelming majority of 257 to 25 — with nine abstentions. Under the constitution, the case now proceeds to a Senate trial.
