Germany & Ukraine to jointly produce 1,500-km-capable drones | Ukraine Brief

A three-day ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia is coming to an end, with both sides accusing each other of violations. Ukraine reports deadly Russian strikes across several regions, which have killed at least three people over the past day.

Germany and Ukraine are deepening defense cooperation on long-range drone production, following an announced visit to Kyiv. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius and his Ukrainian counterpart Mykhailo Fedorov signed a letter of intent on May 11 to strengthen cooperation on the development of defense technologies. Berlin and Kyiv will work together to produce long-range drones capable of striking targets up to 1,500 kilometers away.

For this episode’s interview, Ukraine Brief’s host Benjamin Lee is joined by Victoria Voytsitska from the International Center for Ukrainian Victory to discuss the German defense minister’s visit, as well as looking back at Moscow’s Victory Day parade, which was conducted in a shortened and downscaled format.
