Two charged after fatal weir crash

Two people have been charged after a car plunged into a weir in Sydney’s Royal National Park following what police believe was a street race that claimed the life of a young man.

Mohamed Kashif, 20, died when the Audi he was travelling in sank into the water yesterday.

The driver of the vehicle survived the crash and has been charged with dangerous driving causing death, along with other offences.

A second driver, a P-plater who was allegedly racing the Audi at the time of the fatal incident, has also been charged with driving while suspended. #crash #weir #crime #police #streetrace
