Govt to allocate over RM710mil to help workers hit by layoffs, says PM

An economic resilience package worth more than RM710mil will be rolled out to ensure Malaysia is better prepared for potential crises that could trigger unemployment, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

In his Workers’ Day message in conjunction with the National Workers’ Day 2026 celebration on Friday, Anwar said the package, known as the Progressive Acceleration for Capability and Employment initiative, will be implemented through four key measures, beginning with strengthened social protection preparedness.
