In one of the largest joint law enforcement operations in Australian history, the Multi Agency Strike Team (MAST) dismantled two high-value criminal networks valued at $80 million that relied on “trusted insiders” within the freight and logistics industry. Following high-stakes raids across Barangaroo, Bankstown, Silverwater, and Sydney Airport, detectives arrested seven individuals and seized over 280,000 illegal vapes, 1.65 tonnes of 1,4-Butanediol ($33M street value), $300,000 in gold bullion, luxury watches, firearms, and cash. The NSW Crime Commission has frozen more than $25 million in illicit assets—including 14 real estate properties—while the Australian Border Force immediately suspended depot licenses for national freight forwarding operations in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.
